Our villa is the ideal place for you to relax and soak up the pleasures of sun-drenched Tuscany – whether you’re after great local food and wine, culture, art, architecture, nature, adventure – or a bit of everything! Villa Lucchesi is the perfect base for exploring Tuscany.

Local bars, restaurants, shops and trattorias are all within a few minutes’ walk. The local town centre is just a few minutes walk away and you can reach Lucca in 20 minutes by bus or via the nearby train station. We are 1 hour from Pisa airport and 1 hour 10 minutes from Florence airport.

Bagni di Lucca is known as the “Switzerland of Italy” due to the tree-clad mountains that rise around it, creating an almost alpine-like feel. For nature lovers and outdoor pursuit enthusiasts, there are excellent hiking and trekking routes in the area, as well as rafting and quad biking.

Villa Lucchesi is situated within reach of many of the region’s attractions. We are on the main road to Abetone for skiing where one can enjoy a day on the slopes and be back in time for dinner at one of Bagni di Lucca’s many restaurants. Versilia beaches and Florence are easily reached by car or bus in under an hour. 

Barga – Known as “The most Scottish town in Italy”, is under half an hour away. This unique medieval hilltop town has a diverse programme of cultural events, music, gastronomic festivals and other festivities throughout the summer. 

Lucca – Renowned for its Rennaissance era city walls encircling its historic city centre, which have remained intact and unspoilt to this day. Enjoy its cobbled streets, architectural delights, handsome piazzas, trattorias, gelaterias… and great shopping too! Check out Lucca’s famous summer music festival, where open air concerts take place with impressive line-ups such as Elton John, Robbie Williams, The Eagles, Billy Idol etc.

Local Attractions

Bagni di Lucca became a hot spot in the 11th century for its famous baths, and today you can still relax in the therapeutic thermal waters in the spa complex. Here you can also experience the natural steams of the two geothermal caves.

Villa Lucchesi is situated within reach of many of the region’s attractions. We are on the main road to Abetone for skiing while Versilia beaches and Florence are easily reached by car or bus in under an hour.

Other places to see in the surrounding area are Cappella Demidoff, Ponte a Serraglio, Villa Ada Casino, Fiori Ponte delle Catene, Villa Webb Academic Theatre, Palace of the Circolo dei Forestieri, Villa Granducale, Foot bridge of Ponte a Serraglio II and Thermal Spa Bagno Bernabò.

The Mirafiume Tennis club is directly across the road from the villa. The club has four clay tennis courts for hire with night lights, heating and covering for the winter.
